I also added a link of two, one being Barney's Blog from one of my favorite TV shows on Monday's. 'How I Met Your Mother', while I like the entire show, Neil Patrick Harris (yes I know he came out of the closet) is a highlight of the series. His character, Barney is a television classic. Here is a short clip from Monday's episode, which revolved around the 'Bro Code'.
Our friend Kelly also said I didn't post Monday, which I did! I also installed a new application on my smartphone which allows me to post an entry while on the road. Check the various sidebar links to find yesterday's post. A little while ago I changed the default layout here to only show the last 2 posts on the main page. Should I increase the amount? I might create a new test blog to try out some new layout designs if I can remember my HTML, it's been awhile since I tried hand coding anything.
In a Tim Allen tooltime grunt...I bought a new 12" Compound Mitre Saw last night! It was on sale, and I have always wanted one. A few years ago, I enjoyed messing with some carpentry on weekends. Maybe it's a gene I inherited from my Grandpa (mom's side) who was a cabinet maker for a living. Not that I'm any good, but I have fun trying. Maybe this summer I'll try a few projects and post my results.
Before we start the single review for today's post, check out President Hopeful Barak Obama blowing off some steam with my boys.
Yep, that's Barak trying to keep up with the Tarheels a few days ago.
Lars and the Real GirlTrailer
IMDB.com
4 out of 5
Ryan Gosling ... Lars Lindstrom
Emily Mortimer ... Karin Lindstrom
Paul Schneider ... Gus Lindstrom
Kelli Garner ... Margo
Patricia Clarkson ... Dagmar
I am becoming a Ryan Gosling fan. I like how he is picking some really interesting character's/movies to work on. I would think he has a pretty good choice for projects right now.
This movie is about Ryan's character Lars, who is very uncomfortable in social situations, being touched at all, and almost a hermit. (Sound like anyone you know?) He lives in the garage of his childhood home, which he and his brother now own, the house and garage that is. Their father had passed a few years prior to the when the movie takes place, and their mother passed away during childbirth of Lars. Needless to say it caused Lars to have some issues. His brother is married, and expecting their first child, when his wife decides she wants to help Lars.
They are surprised a few weeks later, when he introduces them to Bianca, his new girlfriend he met online. Problem is, Bianca is a love/sex doll, not the inflatable kind, but the silicone realistic mannequin looking ones.
At first they have no idea what to do, or how to react, so they hatch a plan to take Bianca to see the doctor (also a shrink) since she is tired from travelling all the way from South America to be with Lars! The doctor tells Lars she will need a series of treatments, to fool him into coming in once a week to talk to the doctor while Bianca rests after her medicine is administered.
The initial diagnosis is that Bianca is a delusion, and they should go along with Lars thinking she is real, so the whole town gets on board treating Bianca like she is real, for the benefit of Lars who they all love.
I recommend watching this one.
That's it for today,
ciao!

My apologies for missing the Monday post!
Hey, when you are ready I have a list of projects I would like built. My dad, who also is into woodworking (took up the hobby later in life - so I have faith in you) is moving all too slow. Don't know if you knew this but my dad built all of Ty's bedroom set. Started with a toy box when he was 1 and had added a piece each year. So you can see where I stand in his priority!!
