D-MTV!

Half-day today!!

I am leaving at lunch today for a dentist appointment. I'd rather stay and work, not being a fan of taking time off for things like this. Maybe that's why I always have a month of vacation time still left in December every year.

Well I got home last night to discover the trash man took everything, except the boards! Kind of weird, because I had that giant TV box, 3 trash cans, the Miter saw box, and a few other boxes. Yet he leaves these old boards. I admit they were 4-5 feet long each, but come on man! So after letting the dogs go out, I busted out the sawzall, aka a reciprocating saw, and cut each board in half. I'll try again next Thursday I guess. Then I went ahead and mowed the yard, since it was supposed to rain (and did) later Thursday night.

Of course my Dad's plans were cancelled this weekend. He was planning on flying down to Scottsdale to meet with my Uncle Ray and my Uncle Joe. I guess my Uncle Joe owns a piece of land on some mountain near Alberquerque (I'm guessing since he lives there). Well he can't get to the land because of a neighbor owning the land the access road is on. I guess they have been causing problems, so the three of them were planning on making an offer to buy them out. I'm hearing all this second hand, but I'm kind of concerned I guess. I am imagining in my mind some backwoods hillbilly living in a log cabin with his cousin/wife and their 6 children. But anyway, the trip was postponed messing up my plans this weekend. I'm still waiting to decide what to do now for Mother's Day. Honestly, with all the grief my Mom causes me, I think there should be a Son's Day!
