Made me chuckle..

Couple things I wanted to share that made me laugh a little when I saw them, over the last few days.

The first being on Sunday, when I went by Popeye's chicken for a Shrimp Po'Boy and Cajun rice meal. Their Cajun rice is deeelicious. It also reminds a little of when I would sneak home from college and stay with my sister down in Westport. We would always make a trip by the Popeye's so I could get some of that rice. Anyway, there was a print ad propped up next to the soda machines that made me laugh and this is what it said.

Everything
at Popeye's
has
BIG FLAVOR
(except the napkins, they
taste like napkins)

Well played Popeye's ad guys.

The other funny I saw was while reading a post on Lifehacker.com. The story is about what breaks the deal for you in a recipe. Examples included (I guess) difficult steps like separating egg yolks from the whites, or something called glove boning? I had to Google it myself to find out what the heck that is. It apparently is a method to turn a bird inside out to avoid cutting the meat, don't ask me why or how, I stopped reading about it at that point. But, before you pop some Tums in, here is what made me laugh. The post on Lifehacker was one of their what I guess you could call 'question posts' where they ask something, and everyone gives a comment. People started responding with your average stuff like (and insert 'when a recipe calls for....') 'let sit overnight' 'serves 18' etc etc. Of course with any feedback process on the internet, the comedians also comment. Of all the ones that tried to be funny, I laughed at this one...

For posterity, I will include the question.

Question: "What is a recipe deal breaker for you?"
Comment: "When I am reading the recipe and it says 'Step 2'

This made me laugh more than the ones that said 'if it is missing microwave instructions' etc, etc.

Thanks to my buddy Rubbin in OK, who left another comment. He just sent an email a few days ago about a possible meet-up this summer. I'm not sure how else to word that. No, we aren't talking about a camping trip where it's just us and we bring our cowboy hats. Which is funny, because as soon as I typed that, I thought about a camping trip! I bought this brand new kick arse tent and haven't used it yet! Maybe a canoe float trip, hmmm.

Ok, let's watch a couple movie trailers real quick, then I gotta get some work done.

New Wall-E clip
(on the down-low, Di$ney asked the site I originally found this on to remove it, let's see if I get an email from them)

The Go-Getter

City of Ember

Righteous Kill
(I am really excited for this one, Pacino + DeNiro = money)

Babylon A.D.

ok, that's it, enjoy your day,

ciao!
