That's all I will say about that, if you are a Carlin fan, there are plenty of other places to read about this untimely death of one of the greats.
1.The Savages
2.Cassandra's Dream
3.Strange Wilderness
4.Incredible Hulk (2008)
5.Get Smart (2008)
What is this you ask? Well those are the movies I watched this weekend! I don't have the time to write reviews on them all, so here is a very quick condensed opinion of each.
1.The Savages (dvd) - IMDB - Trailer - Pretty good movie about adults dealing with how to take care of their elderly parents. In this case, a brother and sister have to fly to Arizona, and find something to do with their father, diagnosed with dementia . The end put a HUGE smile on my face.
2.Cassandra's Dream (dvd) - IMDB - Trailer - Well, this seemed to be an English (as in British) remake of Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Two brothers, in financial problems, approach their rich Uncle for loans. The price is to do him a favor, which questions their morals, he wants them to murder a business associate who is going to testify against him.
3.Strange Wilderness (dvd) - IMDB - Trailer - Don't rent it, see it, or even look too long at this on the shelf. It was horrible. The hilarious shark scene in the trailer still makes me laugh, but the rest of the movie is time I will never get back, and I might sue the whole film crew for compensation. The single good thing was getting to look at Ashley Scott. ummm hawt.

4.Incredible Hulk (theater) - IMDB - Trailer - Oh my gosh! My Mom was acting a little squirrely Sunday, and asked if I wanted to go see a couple movies. We started with The Hulk. This was a huge improvement over the last CGI hulk. I have always been a Ed Norton fan, and this was a great comic book movie.
5.Get Smart (theater) - IMDB - Trailer - The second movie was the Steve Carrell remake of the classic TV spy series. If you liked the old TV show, you will like this movie. Plenty of laughs and I was not disappointed.
Other weekend activities.....
Saturday morning I had to get up early to take Barkley into the vet. He was having a minor surgery to remove a cyst. After some confusion with the appointment (the vet forgot about it). I was very nervous about this, anytime they are going to do something like this I am scared. They were not going to sedate him, but just give a local around the area, shave it, and laser cut it out, finishing with a few stitches. I smoked about a pack of cigarettes when I left to get gas in the car, buy some special treats for afterwards and wait for them to finish. When I got back about 20 min later, he was ready to go, and a little groggy. He has about a four inch stitched up incision along the middle of his back. When I got home, the plan was to do some yard work, after picking up potting soil, mulch and some plants Friday night. I figured Barkley was going to sleep most of the afternoon anyway. So after I sat with him for a few, I went outside. I came in to grab a beverage and saw the stitches were bleeding a little, so I called the vet back. They told me it was normal, to keep my eye on him, and if it was still 'draining' in a few hours to call again. I cleaned off the blood, grabbed the egg timer, and went back outside. I set it for 20 min, and every time it beeped I went in to check on him. He was pretty much asleep every time so I pushed it out to 30 min, and in a few hours the blood seemed to have stopped.
We added pain killers to his nightly list, and he did get an approval for the ears looking a lot better.
Since it rained Sunday morning, my Dad said if I wanted to come over around 10, the ground should be dry enough, but that meant I'd be out there in the hottest part of the day, and wouldn't have finished until around 4 in the afternoon, so we decided I would come by tonight and mow half, then the rest tomorrow night.
I did pick one of these up Friday after work, and a protective case for it, at Best Buy.
My Passport Elite 320gb

Its about the size of a moleskin notebook, and so far I have thrown everything on my iPod onto this, some pictures, documents etc. If you weren't sure, it is an external hard drive. So far I am liking it, and will try and write more tomorrow, but today we are done. I need to start doing some work.
ciao!
